Despatch Operative
Full Time
38.5 hours per week:
09.30 - 18.30 / Monday to Tuesday
09.00 - 18.00 / Wednesday to Thursday
09.00 - 16.30 / Friday
Based at our Ashton Road site in Hyde.
As our Despatch Operative, you will load and unload goods in the loading bay and accept and distribute goods received to all internal departments.
You will handle all relevant paperwork and follow all booking in, despatch and packing procedures ensuring orders are recorded and shipped accurately.
You will also operate a Forklift Truck as and when required.
If successful you will complete a three-month probation period.
Main Responsibilities & Duties
• Receive goods from outside suppliers or other company sites, complete all paperwork and distribute to relevant internal departments with paperwork. • Book-in all customers returns, completing all paperwork and recording movement of these goods. • Safely load and unload vehicles using forklift trucks or other machinery as necessary. • Remove refuse/packaging and clean pallets ensuring a tidy and safe environment. • Drive when required to deliver, collect, and re-locate goods or vehicles. • Physical lifting of cartons will be necessary during the working day. • To adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety Policy at all times. • Perform within the requirements of your position and maintain the Company’s Quality Procedures. • Carry out any other duties when required. This may involve working in other departments.
Essential Criteria:
• Forklift truck license.
Desirable Criteria:
• Full, clean driving license.
