Assistant Management Accountant (FTC 12 Months)

Full Time
35 hours per week

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Company Accountant to join our finance team for a temporary period.

If successful you will complete a three-month probation period.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

• Preparation of monthly stock reports and analysis.

• Review price variance of actual invoiced V standard costs.

• Investigate stock variances.

• Maintaining a fixed asset register.

• Preparation of accounts related tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

• Preparing, reconciling, and posting nominal journals including control accounts, accruals and prepayments.

• Ensuring the System Spreadsheets and Nominal Ledgers reconcile, preparing the journal for Depreciation, producing analysis reports, P&L and Balance Sheet for inclusion in the Board Report, compilation of the monthly Board Reports for the Board Meetings.

• Completing the Balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.

• Liaise with outside agencies such as HMRC.

• Reviewing aged creditors report with Purchase Ledger Clerks on a monthly basis, to balance, revalue and reconcile Purchase and Sale Ledger controls prior to month end closure.

• Reconciling and submitting VAT returns and to liaise with auditors during and after Audit.

• Completing returns for the National Statistic Office.

• Reconciling & maintaining intercompany balances.

• Helping group subsidiaries complete their accounts.

• Reconciliation of purchase order deposit prepayments.

• Compile Board Report.

• Assisting with project work.

• Assistance with budgeting.

• Covering all duties of the Finance Assistant as required.

• Completing additional assignments as directed by the Company Accountant or Financial Controller.

• Ad hoc duties as required.

Essential Criteria:

• CIMA (Studying at strategic level or above) or similar qualification.

• Knowledge of stock & manufacturing.

• 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

• Excellent communication skills, accuracy and organisational skills.

• Able to prioritise and met deadlines.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
